As a first step in the constitutional review process, and looking objectively at the map of our country, "the Pen..", not to mention the low-cost solution involved, wouldn't it be RIGHT to rename our country "BOTSALO" or "BOTSALWA" ? Botsalo means "Birth", while Botsalwa means "Being born" in the Sumerian/Coptic/Arab/Sotho/Tswana language. Pretty similar, wouldn't you say? Either name would help solve the controversy of usurpation of the original name of the current Republic - Bakhwanaland/Bechuanaland. The people would then become "Batsalwa". The impostor "national language", which is in reality Sumerian/Arab/Coptic/Sotho/Tswana, would retain the name "Setswana", while the English language assumes the local name "Setsalwa".

In an earlier post titled "Our borders are inviolable" I stated that "Our borders were named in the Kalanga language". I did not state that the borders were named "ONLY" in the Kalanga language. So you, the reader can make up your mind as to whether I lied or not. If you follow the Li-Mpombo (penis-seam) border of our country westwards, you will reach a point where the border is a river named the "Molopo river". Some have claimed that the river's correct name is "Molapo" which is Sotho/Tswana language for "river". I don't think so. The Sotho/Tswana verb for being sexualy aroused is "go lopa". A noun derived from that verb could be "Molopo", meaning the prostate gland. A careful look at the map of our country and the shape of the organ it represents, i.e. a penis, shows that the Molopo river is exactly where the prostate gland is. In this week’s Sunday Standard, under his column “Badge of Courage”, and headlined “The UDC is at risk of being hijacked by former Presdient Dr Khama”, Professor Dipholo writes “At this stage, election matters particularly those relating to petitions and allegations of rigging are considered very sensitive and only those mandated to speak on behalf of their parties must do so and do so in a manner that acknowledges the sensitivity of the issue”. Professor Dipholo’s statement is very unsettling, because it seems to suggest that we, the voters, have no business talking about election irregularities at this stage. A good many voters, possibly the majority are NOT members of political parties. The only time these voters are given a say in the running of their country is at elections. If the elections are rigged, it is the ordinary voter who loses the most because he/she has no other forum to influence the democratic trajectory that his/her country is presumed to follow. One election cycle ago, on 4th December 2014, I posted an article on my blog myikalanga dot blogspot dot com, titled "Boko, Saleshando, Joina should resign" or something to that effect. Note that the said post followed the end of the 2014 elections, and not the recent ones. The results of the recent elections suggest that Dumelang Saleshando to his credit, did something to mitigate the effect of rigging against his party this time around. I therefore withdraw my call to him to resign from leadership of the BCP!

The mainstream press has been peddling a lie to our citizens for the last half century of Independent Botswana's existence. The press claims that "Batswana" (i.e. citizens of our country) want opposition political parties to unite AT ANY COST! In truth no citizen assigns "unity of opposition political parties" a higher priority than a clear definition of what each political party stands for. The Batswana would be quite happy to vote for a party which they believe will better their lives, even if that party was not united with any other opposition political party.
