It is a crazy thought, I agree. However, some things make you wonder. In old Kalanga "El" meant the Anunnaki god Enlil/Jehovah , and was pronounced "Ilo". The Sumerian/Coptic/Sotho/Tswana (Tswana for short) translation of "Ilo" is "lone", pronounced somewhat like "loney". So "lone" is mordern Tswana for "El", that is Jehovah. Now, the name of the US aircraft that dropped the nuclear bomb on the Japanese city of Hiroshima in August 1945 was "Enola Gay". Read backwards, "Enola Gay" becomes "Ya ga lone". The latter phrase is Tswana language for "Belonging to El", that is "Belonging to Enlil/Jehova". The thought that Enlil/Jehovah may have ordered the nuclear conflagration in Japan wakes one up to the reality that we humans are not in charge, someone else is.

And so we have been reminded, thanks to attorney Rantao's social media posts that for the last ten years our parliament knew that the constitutional provision that ushered in former presidents Mogae and Khama is flawed. Attorney Ndulamo Morima has followed up with revelation that then Attorney general, Dr. Atalia Molokomme conceded that the relevant section of the consitution needed to be amended TEN long years ago, when Khama became president. This was TEN long years after Mogae became president through the same constitutional provision. And yet the offending constitutional provision remains intact to this day. No amendment has been made. I mean here is a guy, on the eve of his becoming president, and he comes wearing the most ridiculous looking cap bedecked with medals; an absolute cartoonists paradise, surpassed if at all, only by Jean Bedell Bokasa's coat! An article entitled "Focus on Palapye; The rise and rise of Palapye" in the latest edition of The Voice newspaper has touched a raw nerve. It is yet another of the myriad writings, some by "prominent historians" which seek to potray the Bangwato as some sort of super-tribe. The supressed truth is that Bangwato were a small insignificant tribe until the British arrived, gave them guns, and unleashed them on other African tribes. The rest is "history", a doctored version of history of course!
