More corona virus mysteries

That corona virus is out there and killing people is indisputable. There are just a few things that I fail to understand. For example, if one has antibodies, and they never received the antibody treatment plasma, and they are tested and prove to be coronavirus negative, why should it not be assumed that if they get infected again, they will kick out the infection just as they did the first one? Associated with the first question is this second question: Does treating people using  "donated" antibody plasma not get them "addicted" to that type of treatment and render meaningless the whole antibody treating exercise? What I mean is that a person who recovered thanks to antibody plasma or serum or whatever they call it, has NO ability to kick the virus on their own immunity response. It's like such a person is now "dependent" on the plasma, until a vaccine is made. What's more, if you subject such a person to an antibody test, they will seem to have...

The corona virus nightmare...

It may have been conceived as a genuine attempt to stem the coronavirus onslaught on our land, but it is being implemented as naked power driven arrogance. A friend of mine told me about his experiences when applying for a permit to visit his field. Like me, he lives alone. I will try my best to reproduce his experiences verbatim, i.e. in his own words: "Comerade Target (that's me), there is just no sense in this so-called lockdown. As you know I stay alone, and as you know I have crops in my field. So the other day, after being denied a permit by Government lockdown agents to visit my field on numerous occasions, I decided to make an application for a permit online. I accessed the web page okay, and started filling the page. Alas, the page MANDATES me to enter names of my household contacts. But like I said, I stay alone. Therefore I have no household contacts. Another thing, I will be ALONE in my field all the time I will spend there. Therefore unless I decide to go somewhe...

Why I continue writing here.

I feel defined when I can trace my origins to the workgroups of the Anunnaki. I am sure other tribes share the sentiment when similarly traced. I am therefore saddened that such large southern African groups as the Herero, the Boers (the Dutch), the Ovambo, the Subia (BeKuhane) remain largely unidentified from the workgroups of the Anunnaki. Hopefully someone will someday reveal to me who these groups are. There is a song with a line "fungo dzangu dzino tambira kure...". I don't know what language that is, but from the Kalanga perspective, my understanding is that it means "my thoughts are racing far...". The song came to mind when I was puzzling, as I often do, over what exactly are time and space. We are told that when we look into space through a very powerful telescope, we are effectively looking into the past. So, suppose two people are standing back to back and peering into the heavens, each with an "infinitely" powerfull telescope. Either of t...

Named by the gods

Maybe most personal names were given by the gods; I don't know. Because I speak Kalanga, I am absolutely fascinated by Kalanga names that clearly have their origins from the workgroups of the Anunnaki. I am in no doubt that such names exist in other languages too. However I will restrict my observation to my language Kalanga and where noticed, to its antithesis - Sumerian/Arab/Coptic/Sotho/Tswana. Consider the Kalanga name "Eleni" (apologies to Ms Giokos). Eleni is the plural, imperative case of the verb "ku ela" (also written as "ku yela"). The verb means "to measure". If you instruct/order one person to measure something you say "ela". If you instruct more than one person, you say "eleni" or "elani". The name "Eleni" can only really belong to to a member of the "measuring tribe", i.e. BaEla (or BaYela). BaEla are commonly known as Greeks. Current black Greeks are concentrated as the Baka...

Hunger strike deferred - indefinitely!

The dictator has his heels firmly dug in. There is "not a snowball's chance in Hell" of the lockdown measures being eased with regard to alcohol sales or me being allowed to go buy groceries in town. No number of deaths from a hunger strike will make any difference under lockdown conditions. They may even infect you with Covid-19 during your hunger strike, knowing that it will dispatch you much faster than the hunger! I have found some innovative ways of getting my groceries from town. I believe you too can find ways of getting the alcohol you desperately need, if you look hard enough. You can "buy it in the bush"; you can brew some at the masimo; or you can even thotha in your own house, provided you do not make too much noise that would attract the attention of the LOCKDOWN POLICE. Good luck!

Embark on nation-wide hunger strike against the Dictator.

If you are subjected to similarly senseless restrictions as I am, or if you feel as I do that this President is trampling on your human rights, then I invite you to join me in an indefinite nationwide hunger strike until our civil liberties are restored. To join in the strike all you have to do is just sit outside your gate and refuse food and/or drink until arrested or until hunger or corona virus kills you. Maybe then the world will realise that dictators are using LOCKDOWN as an excuse to grab powers that no one ever gave them; powers that no democratic constitution could ever give them; powers that we do not need a lawyer to tell us that the President does not have. President Masisi knows that had he and his BDP candidates told the nation at last year's general elections that he would prevent liquor stores opening IF A SARS LIKE DISEASE BROKE OUT, he would not have won a single seat in parliament. Had he told the nation that he would prevent people going out of their houses...

Parliamentary debate - 6 months lockdown?

I assume that the televised Parliamentary debate is continuing today. If it is, then perhaps the legislators could take a moment to reflect on the trials and tribulations of us mortals who find ourselves at the mercy of monopolies like Multichoice. They know that we are under lockdown; so what better time to cut us off our paid up subscription, knowing that we cannot go to their offices! When you ring their offices, naturally there is no answer. Imagine what 6 months lockdown will mean for those of us who are not financially capable of suing the sh*t out of the likes of Multichoice!

DiKgotla (Admin centres) are Virus hotspots

Someone with authority needs to intervene urgently. The administration centres at which people are required to apply for permits to leave their yards during the current lockdown have turned into potential virus distribution points. Some people need to visit doctors; others to buy groceries, and yet others to go tend to their crops in the fields. All are required to apply each time, basically each day. Imagine some two hundred desperate people queued outside a KGOTLA . Who can possibly enforce a 2 metre separation in such a situation? In fact what happens is that they congregate in one place, shout profanities, and curse whoever they think is forcing them into that situation. I have witnessed such an agitated crowd outside a kgotla today. No one was wearing a mask. Every single person was cursing, and none seemed to remember that any social distancing guidelines exist. It became obvious to me that if ONLY one person was infected in that crowd, two hundred left already infected. Accor...

Botswana must avoid the HIV mistakes

As a country we made a big mistake by raising the prevalence of HIV to the level of a national secret, before former president Mogae appealed to the International community for help. In a way the mistake was understandable because HIV was closely associated with sex, a taboo subject among us. But now we have coronavirus, a virus that has no link to any taboo subject. Coronavirus infects through cough and other methods that we have absolutely no reason to be ashamed of. It is therefore disheartening to see us again failing or refusing to REVEAL the identities of infected people. The minister of health was on TV earlier tonight, telling the nation that two more people have contracted coronavirus. Those who have come into contact with the two people have now been traced, according to the minister. Strangely though, the minister did not reveal the identity of those two people, or of anybody who is known to have come into contact with the two people. In my humble opinion this is wrong. Th...
